Our Roots

GOLD butterfly OUTLINE (NO BACKGROUND).png

Roots To Freedom grew from a simple longing - to create spaces where people could reconnect more honestly with themselves, with each other, and with the world around them.

What began years ago as Conscious Buddy Community slowly evolved through grassroots gatherings, music, movement, retreats, festivals, woodland events, creativity and shared experiences rooted in authentic human connection. Over time, the vision became something deeper than events alone. It became about remembering how to gather in community and remember our roots.

Through fires, dance floors, ceremony spaces and community projects, thousands of people have passed through these spaces each bringing their own stories, presence, creativity and spirit. What has always connected these experiences is a shared longing for belonging, expression, freedom and deeper connection in an increasingly disconnected world.

At the heart of Roots To Freedom is a deep remembrance of our ancestral connection - reconnecting with the wisdom, rhythms and ways of gathering that have existed long before modern life became so disconnected from nature, community and spirit. It is about remembering who we are at our roots, walking as pilgrims through life, and recognising that we are all connected within the same woven tapestry of existence, each of us a thread within something far greater than ourselves.

Today, Roots To Freedom continues to grow as a grassroots community movement centred around music, creativity, nature, ceremony and shared human experience. Through sober spaces, gatherings, retreats, movement and cultural events, we create environments where people can slow down and reconnect.

At its core, Roots To Freedom is about community, remembrance and creating spaces where people feel seen, inspired and genuinely connected - to themselves, to each other, to their ancestors and to the living world around them.
